Study tests which diabetes drug better boosts natural insulin

NCT ID NCT07325435

Summary

This study compares how two types of FDA-approved diabetes medications affect the pancreas's ability to produce insulin in Black patients with type 2 diabetes. Sixty participants will take either a GLP-1 receptor agonist (like Ozempic) or an SGLT2 inhibitor (like Jardiance) for four months. Researchers will measure changes in insulin production and blood sugar control to see if one medication type works better for this population.
