The diabetes puzzle: why do some patients escape the worst?
NCT ID NCT07250607
Summary
This study aims to understand why some people with Type 2 diabetes develop serious health complications while others do not, even with similar blood sugar levels. Researchers will review the medical records of 1000 patients to create a scoring system for complication risk. They will then take blood samples from patients at the highest and lowest risk to look for biological markers that might predict who is most vulnerable.
