Can a higher steroid dose speed up recovery after gallbladder surgery?

NCT ID NCT07469332

First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether a higher dose of the steroid dexamethasone given during gallbladder surgery helps patients recover better than a moderate dose. About 135 adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder removal will be randomly assigned to receive one of two doses. The researchers will measure nausea, pain, inflammation, and overall recovery quality to see which dose works best.
