New labor device aims to protect moms from hidden birth injuries
NCT ID NCT03973281
Summary
This study is testing a device called Materna Prep, which is used during the first stage of labor to gently stretch the vaginal and pelvic tissues. The goal is to see if this preparation can reduce injuries to the pelvic muscles that sometimes happen when a baby is born. The study will compare outcomes for about 420 first-time mothers who either use the device or receive standard care during labor.
