Can a camera or a scan spot dangerous leaks after colon surgery?
NCT ID NCT03148054
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at 416 people who had elective left-sided colon surgery. A few days after surgery, each person had both an endoscopy (a camera inside the colon) and a CT scan with contrast to see how well these tests could find leaks where the colon was reconnected. The goal was to see which test is more accurate at spotting these leaks early.
