New contact lens aims to help aging eyes see up close without bifocals
NCT ID NCT06698731
First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested a new daily disposable contact lens designed to help people with presbyopia (age-related blurry near vision) see clearly at both far and close distances, potentially reducing the need for reading glasses. 78 adults aged 45 to 70 who already wear soft contact lenses tried the test lens and a standard distance lens during two office visits. Researchers measured how well the lens improved near and intermediate vision and checked for any visual disturbances or safety concerns.
