First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests a new treatment called Descartes-08 for people with dermatomyositis or antisynthetase syndrome, two rare diseases that cause muscle inflammation and weakness. The treatment uses a patient's own immune cells, modified to target and calm the overactive immune system. The study will compare Descartes-08 to a placebo to see if it safely improves muscle function and reduces disease activity.
