Do dental X-Rays damage your cells? study compares two common scans

NCT ID NCT07330401

Summary

This study aimed to understand if two common dental X-ray types (OPG and CBCT) cause different levels of cell damage in the mouth. Researchers collected cheek cell samples from 60 people before and after their scheduled dental X-rays to measure changes. The goal was to compare which type of scan might cause more cell-level changes, particularly looking at differences between younger (15-25) and middle-aged (40-50) adults.
