Could a root canal help your heart?

NCT ID NCT07343804

Summary

This study is testing whether treating a specific type of tooth infection (apical periodontitis) can lower certain markers of body-wide inflammation in people who also have stable coronary artery disease. Researchers will compare two groups: one that gets immediate root canal treatment and one that gets delayed treatment, measuring inflammation markers before and after. The goal is to see if fixing this dental problem might help control a risk factor for heart disease.
