Laughing gas tested to calm dental fears in kids and anxious patients
NCT ID NCT00643838
Summary
This study tested whether a 50/50 mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen (often called 'laughing gas') could help patients feel less pain and anxiety during dental procedures. It involved 549 patients, including very young children, adults with dental phobias, and patients with mental disabilities, across 36 dental centers in France. The main goal was to see how well this gas worked for sedation and whether patients and dentists found it acceptable.
