New dental material tested to save teeth from root canals
NCT ID NCT07147036
Summary
This study tested two materials used to protect the living nerve inside a tooth when a cavity is very deep but not yet infected. In 76 patients, dentists placed either the traditional material (Calcium Hydroxide) or a newer alternative (Biodentine) over the remaining healthy tooth structure. The goal was to see which material was better at keeping the tooth's nerve alive and healthy over a 12-week period, potentially avoiding more invasive treatments like a root canal.
