New dental pain score aims to take the guesswork out of toothaches
NCT ID NCT07349511
Summary
This study tested a new 11-question scoring system designed to help dentists more accurately diagnose the type of pain coming from a tooth's inner pulp. Researchers compared this new tool against two standard diagnostic methods in 143 adults with painful teeth. They also checked if the pain score could predict how much discomfort patients felt after their dental treatment.
