Can a light treatment make dental implants safer? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT06759870
First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study aims to see if treating dental implants with UV light (photo-functionalization) can reduce the release of tiny titanium particles into the body. Titanium implants can corrode over time, potentially causing inflammation or other issues. Researchers will measure titanium levels in 64 participants right after implant surgery and again three months later to compare standard implants with UV-treated ones.
