New collagen membrane matches traditional gum graft for dental implants
NCT ID NCT06880185
Summary
This study tested whether a lab-made collagen membrane works as well as taking tissue from the patient's own mouth to build up thin gum tissue around dental implants. Twenty healthy patients needing single-tooth implants received either the collagen membrane or a traditional tissue graft during their implant surgery. Researchers measured gum thickness before surgery and at 1 and 3 months after, finding both methods provided similar improvement in tissue thickness around the implants.
