Gum graft boosts dental implant success in small study

NCT ID NCT07573020

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether using a special gum graft material (acellular dermal matrix) around new front tooth implants helps improve gum thickness and reduce bone loss. Sixteen adults with a damaged front tooth received an implant right after tooth removal, with half getting the extra gum graft. The results showed that the graft helped create thicker, healthier gum tissue around the implant.
