New tools tested to rebuild shrinking jaws for better dental implants

NCT ID NCT07467369

Summary

This study compared two surgical tools—a magnetic mallet and a piezotome—for expanding a thin, shrunken upper jawbone before placing a bone graft and dental implant. It involved 20 patients who had lost front teeth and experienced jawbone loss. Researchers measured how stable the implants were after 6 months, along with pain levels and bone changes, to see which tool worked better.
