New technique widens jaw for dental implants

NCT ID NCT07401238

Summary

This study tested a two-step surgical method to widen a narrow jawbone so it could support a dental implant. It involved 20 patients with a single missing tooth and a thin jaw ridge. Doctors used a special vibrating tool to gently split the bone, placed a bone graft, and then inserted an implant four months later to see how well the new bone formed and the implant held.
