Brazilian study tests new approach to save failing dental implants
NCT ID NCT06884475
Summary
This study aims to compare two surgical procedures for treating peri-implantitis, a serious infection that can develop around dental implants and lead to bone loss. Forty adult patients with this condition will be randomly assigned to receive either a procedure called implantoplasty, which reshapes the implant surface, or a standard surgical cleaning. Researchers will track patients for six months to see which approach better controls the infection, reduces inflammation, and improves gum health around the implants.
