New study tests better fix for failing dental implants
NCT ID NCT07478978
Summary
This study tested whether adding a special collagen membrane to a standard bone graft surgery works better for treating serious infections around dental implants. 44 patients with infected implants were randomly assigned to receive either the bone graft alone or the bone graft with the membrane. Researchers measured gum health, bone regrowth, and healing markers to see which approach led to better recovery.
