New Sugar-Based powder tested to save dental implants from gum disease

NCT ID NCT07140146

Summary

This study is testing if a new cleaning powder made from trehalose (a type of sugar) works better than the standard glycine powder for treating early gum inflammation around dental implants. Forty adults with this condition will have their implants cleaned with one of the two powders. Researchers will check over six months which powder better reduces plaque, bleeding, and inflammation while being gentler on the implant surface.
