Could a simple fluid test predict dental implant problems?
NCT ID NCT07280754
Summary
This study aims to understand if levels of vitamin D and a natural antibiotic called LL-37 in the fluid around dental implants can serve as early warning signs for gum disease. Researchers will compare these levels in 72 adults with healthy implants, mild gum inflammation, or more serious implant infections. The goal is to find new markers that could lead to earlier diagnosis and simpler, cheaper treatments for implant-related problems.
