Scientists test sponge vs. donor bone for jaw implants

NCT ID NCT06681857

Summary

This study compared two materials used to build up bone in the upper jaw during dental implant surgery. It involved 14 adults who needed a bone graft to support a new molar implant. Researchers tested whether a simple gelatin sponge worked as well as processed donor bone to create a stable foundation for the implant.
