Dentists test new tools to build better, Longer-Lasting fillings

NCT ID NCT07227688

Summary

This study aims to find the best dental tool for shaping fillings in large, complex cavities in back teeth. Researchers will compare different thin, pre-shaped bands (called matrix systems) that dentists use to mold the filling material. The goal is to see which tool helps create a filling with the best shape and contact with the neighboring tooth, which is important for the health of the gums and the filling's durability. The study involves 90 adults with complex cavities needing composite (tooth-colored) fillings.
