NCT ID NCT05471024
First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether using a 3D face scan to design dental crowns reduces the time needed to adjust the fit inside the mouth. Thirty-three adults needing a crown on a molar participated. Researchers compared face-scanning to the usual method of digitizing a dental model. The goal was to see if the new approach saves time and preserves crown strength by minimizing grinding.
