Can a cow bone graft stop your jaw from shrinking after tooth removal?

NCT ID NCT02903667

Summary

This study tested whether placing a special bone graft material (made from processed cow bone and a collagen membrane) into fresh tooth extraction sockets could prevent jawbone shrinkage when multiple adjacent teeth are removed. Researchers enrolled 40 people who needed at least two adjacent teeth extracted and planned for future dental implants. They measured how much the jaw ridge changed over 6 months and checked bone levels around implants after 3 years.
