Stitching vs. stapling: which works better for jawbone repair?
NCT ID NCT07330232
Summary
This study tested whether using special stitches (periosteal sutures) works as well as tiny titanium tacks to hold bone graft material in place during jawbone reconstruction for dental implants. Forty adults needing bone grafts in their upper front jaw were randomly assigned to receive either the stitch method or the tack method during their implant surgery. Researchers measured how much new bone formed around the implants after six months to see if both methods produced similar results.
