Dental glue showdown: which sticks better for tooth cavities?

NCT ID NCT05497583

First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tested two different dental adhesives (glues) used to fix non-carious cavities near the gum line. 28 adults received fillings with either an acetone-based or isopropanol-based glue. Researchers checked the fillings over 18 months to see which glue held up better in terms of staining, staying in place, and preventing sensitivity. The goal was to find out which glue lasts longer and works better for these common tooth repairs.
