Scientists test pill to block dengue virus in human challenge trial

NCT ID NCT06528457

Summary

This study tested whether an oral medication called fenretinide (ISLA101) could control dengue virus infection. Fifteen healthy volunteers were given either the drug or a placebo, then deliberately exposed to a weakened form of the dengue virus. Researchers measured if the drug, taken either before or after exposure, could reduce the amount of virus in the blood and lessen symptoms over 29 days.
