First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested a new type of vaccine made by fusing a patient's own cancer cells with their immune cells (dendritic cells). The goal was to see if this personalized vaccine is safe and can trigger the immune system to attack advanced melanoma. Twenty adults with progressive, measurable metastatic melanoma participated. The approach aims to train the body to fight the cancer without using lifelong medication.
