First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests if mixing sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) with long-lasting numbing medicine reduces the sting of the injection for carpal tunnel release surgery. About 116 adults with carpal tunnel syndrome will be randomly assigned to get either the standard numbing medicine or the buffered version. The main goal is to see if the buffered shot causes less burning, pressure, and overall pain.
