First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether a defibrillator that delivers a 360-joule shock works better than one that delivers a 200-joule shock for restoring normal heart rhythm in people with atrial fibrillation. About 376 adults scheduled for elective cardioversion will take part. The goal is to see which device leads to a more successful conversion to a normal heartbeat.
