First seen Jun 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026

Summary

This study tests if dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) can help people who have had a brain injury better manage emotions and reduce challenging behaviors. About 45 adults with a brain injury from at least 18 months ago will first receive usual care for 5 months, then DBT for 5 months, then monthly DBT sessions for another 5 months. Researchers will measure changes in quality of life, emotional control, and family burden using questionnaires.
