Lung cancer trial matches drugs to tumor DNA
NCT ID NCT02314481
First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 07, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving drugs based on the genetic makeup of a person's lung cancer could help control the disease. About 50 adults with advanced non-small cell lung cancer received either immunotherapy (atezolizumab) alone or with chemotherapy, or targeted drugs like vemurafenib, trastuzumab emtansine, or alectinib depending on their tumor's mutations. The goal was to see how long the cancer stayed under control and to learn which genetic markers predict response.
