Dark chocolate may boost Baby's heart test results
NCT ID NCT07418151
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at whether eating a small amount of dark chocolate (30g, at least 80% cocoa) can help improve results of a fetal heart rate test called a non-stress test (NST) in pregnant women. About 190 women with a non-reactive NST will be randomly assigned to eat either dark chocolate or a sugar-free white chocolate placebo. The main goal is to see if more women in the dark chocolate group have a normal test result within 20 minutes.
