New gel tested to ease debilitating period pain

NCT ID NCT05752526

Summary

This early-stage trial tested two strengths of a vaginal gel containing diclofenac (an anti-inflammatory drug) against a placebo gel in women with severe menstrual pain. The main goals were to check how much of the drug entered the bloodstream, assess safety, and get an early look at whether it helped reduce pain. Forty-two women participated, tracking their pain daily while researchers monitored their health.
