New study aims to uncover hidden signs of diabetes drug overdose in ICU

NCT ID NCT07193069

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study looks at 50 adults in intensive care who overdosed on metformin, a common diabetes drug. Researchers want to find out if taking another diabetes drug, dapagliflozin, changes the signs doctors see. By comparing those who took only metformin with those who took both, they hope to help doctors spot a dapagliflozin overdose faster and improve care.
