Eye disease drug trial aims to halt vision loss

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called danicopan could slow the progression of geographic atrophy, a form of age-related macular degeneration that destroys central vision. About 365 participants with the condition took either the drug at different doses or a placebo for up to two years. Researchers measured changes in the size of the eye lesions and vision to see if the drug was effective and safe.
