New drug trial targets root cause of inherited heart failure

NCT ID NCT07210723

Summary

This study is testing an investigational drug called danicamtiv for people with a genetic form of dilated cardiomyopathy, a condition where the heart muscle is weak and enlarged. About 332 participants will take either danicamtiv or a placebo pill daily for six months to see if the drug improves how well the heart works and helps people exercise better. The goal is to find a new treatment specifically for this inherited heart condition, which currently has no approved targeted therapies.
