New device tested to stop dangerous bleeding after birth

NCT ID NCT06219538

Summary

This study tested a new medical device called the DAISY uterine drain, which is designed to help control severe bleeding after a cesarean delivery. Ten women having planned C-sections participated, allowing surgeons to place the drain and provide feedback on its ease of use and placement. The goal was to gather initial user experience to see if the drain could be a helpful tool for managing a serious childbirth complication.
