First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using bone cement with two antibiotics instead of one can lower the chance of a serious joint infection after hip fracture surgery. About 7,000 adults aged 60 and older with a displaced hip fracture will be included. The main goal is to see if the dual-antibiotic approach reduces infections within one year after surgery.
