First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study compares two types of bone cement used during hip replacement surgery for broken hips in people aged 60 and older. One cement contains a single antibiotic, the other contains two antibiotics. The goal is to see if the dual-antibiotic cement reduces the risk of serious joint infections within one year after surgery. About 7,000 participants will be followed to track infections, reoperations, and costs.
