Summary
This study compares two blood thinners, dabigatran and warfarin, in 370 people with atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) and moderate to severe mitral stenosis (narrowed heart valve). The goal is to see if dabigatran is as safe and effective as warfarin at preventing strokes and other heart problems. Participants take one of the two medications long-term to manage their condition.
