First seen Dec 08, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study will follow 100 adults in intensive care who need ECMO, a machine that helps the heart and lungs. The goal is to see if changes in a blood marker called D-dimer can warn doctors about serious bleeding risks within 24 hours. By finding a clear threshold, the study hopes to make ECMO safer.
