Could a simple walk predict the need for a new lung?
NCT ID NCT02538575
Summary
This study aimed to see if a simple 6-minute walk test could help doctors predict the future health of adults with cystic fibrosis. Researchers followed 291 patients for three years to see if their walking distance or oxygen levels during the test were linked to their chance of needing a lung transplant or other health outcomes. The goal was to gather information to help decide the best timing for major treatments like transplantation.
