Scientists hunt for early clues to prevent dangerous infections in CF babies

NCT ID NCT03947957

Summary

This study aims to understand if a specific bacteria found in babies with cystic fibrosis can predict who will develop a serious lung infection called Pseudomonas aeruginosa by age 3. Researchers will follow 70 infants from birth to age 3, collecting samples like mucus and stool to track changes in their body's bacteria. The goal is to learn how to spot infection risks earlier, not to test a new treatment.
