New weapon tested to help antibiotics fight stubborn cystic fibrosis infections

NCT ID NCT06159725

Summary

This early-stage study tested a new drug, CMTX-101, designed to help standard inhaled antibiotics work better in adults with cystic fibrosis who have a chronic lung infection called Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The main goal was to check if a single dose given through an IV was safe and to see how the body processes the drug. Researchers also looked for early signs that the drug might help reduce the amount of bacteria in the lungs.
