New surgical step aims to make gallbladder removal safer

Summary

This study tests whether keeping the cystic artery intact during laparoscopic gallbladder removal can reduce bleeding and other complications. About 200 people with symptomatic gallstones will take part. After surgery, an ultrasound will check for internal fluid collections or bleeding.
