Custom 3D jaw plates may offer better healing for broken jaws

NCT ID NCT06978530

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether custom-made 3D plates are better than standard titanium plates for fixing a specific type of jaw fracture (sub-condylar fracture). About 30 adults aged 18-60 with recent, displaced fractures will be randomly assigned to receive either a custom plate or a standard plate. The main goals are to see how well the jaw opens and aligns after surgery, and to measure bite strength.
