First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tested whether custom mouthguards designed using a jaw-tracking device called MODJAW work better than standard mouthguards for people with teeth grinding (bruxism) or jaw joint pain. Forty adults with mild-to-moderate symptoms used either a custom or standard splint for 8 weeks. Researchers measured jaw movement, pain levels, and comfort to see if the personalized approach improves outcomes.
