Which foot brace works best? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT06352788
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests two different carbon fiber foot braces (custom dynamic orthoses) in 35 adults who had a traumatic foot or ankle injury at least two years ago. Participants will try both braces and report on comfort, pain, and physical function. The goal is to provide evidence on which design works better, helping doctors make informed choices for recovery.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Custom Dynamic Orthosis (carbon fiber foot brace)
What this could lead to
If this trial succeeds, it could help doctors choose the best brace design for people recovering from serious foot injuries, improving comfort and mobility.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 35 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It compares brace designs, not a new treatment, so no major breakthrough is expected.
