Could a simple fluid test catch ovarian cancer earlier?
NCT ID NCT02109367
First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looked at 52 women scheduled for surgery due to a suspicious ovarian mass. Before surgery, doctors collected fluid from the space behind the vagina (culdocentesis) to measure two tumor markers, CA-125 and HE4. They also tested urine for estrogen ratios. The goal was to see if these markers could help diagnose ovarian cancer in a less invasive way.
